Electroosmosis in nanopores: computational methods and technological applications

چکیده
Electroosmosis is a fascinating effect where liquid motion induced by an applied electric field. Counter ions accumulate in the vicinity of charged surfaces, triggering coupling between mass transport and external In nanofluidic technologies, surfaces play exacerbated role, electroosmosis thus primary importance. Its consequences on properties biological synthetic nanopores are subtle intricate. Thorough understanding therefore challenging yet crucial to fully assess mechanisms at play. Here, we review recent progress computational techniques for analysis discuss technological applications, particular nanopore sensing devices.

The Technological Impact of Diffusion in Nanopores
The impact of nanopore diffusion on the performance of adsorption separation processes is reviewed. Zeolite membrane processes and kinetically selective cyclic adsorption processes depend for their selectivity on differences in intracrystalline diffusion rates so these processes are designed to operate under conditions of intracrystalline diffusion control. In contrast, the performance of equil...
متن کاملComputational Modelling in Cancer: Methods and Applications
Computational modelling of diseases is an emerging field, proven valuable for the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of the disease. Cancer is one of the diseases where computational modelling provides enormous advancements, allowing the medical professionals to perform in silico experiments and gain insights prior to any in vivo procedure. In this paper, we review the most recent computational...
متن کاملCounterfactual Probabilities: Computational Methods, Bounds and Applications
Evaluation of counterfactual queries (e.g., "If A were true, would C have been true?") is important to fault diagnosis, planning, and determination of liability. In this paper we present methods for computing the proba bilities of such queries using the formulation proposed in [Balke and Pearl, 1994], where the antecedent of the query is interpreted as an external action that forces the propos...
متن کاملYang-Baxter Equations, Computational Methods and Applications
Computational methods are an important tool for solving the Yang–Baxter equations (in small dimensions), for classifying (unifying) structures and for solving related problems. This paper is an account of some of the latest developments on the Yang–Baxter equation, its set-theoretical version and its applications. We construct new set-theoretical solutions for the Yang–Baxter equation. Unificat...
